Diabetes Center Expert Discusses Alarming Rise in Global Diabetes Cases

According to a new report issued by the World Health Organization (WHO), the number of people living with diabetes worldwide has nearly quadrupled since 1980 to 422 million adults, with most living in developing countries.

In its first “Global report on diabetes”, WHO highlights the need to step up prevention and treatment of the disease – a goal that is shared by the Diabetes Center at UCSF.
